Empowering women is not just a policy recommendation — it is a biblical mandate and a Christian calling.

The 2015 Hunger Report, When Women Flourish…We Can End Hunger, provides information, insight, and challenges to people of faith. This guide invites Christians to study the Hunger Report together and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance as they share their hopes, concerns, and responses to the problems identified and the solutions proposed in the report.

The guide is a resource for church, school, and other groups that want to reflect more deeply on the biblical basis for why combating hunger will depend on women’s empowerment. It is designed for Christians of many theological and political viewpoints. You should feel free to adapt it to enhance the experience for your group. It includes four small-group sessions that direct participants to read short sections of the 2015 Hunger Report (downloadable here). It also includes a timeline detailing milestones of women’s empowerment in the church.
